Mike built Koda from scratch to retain context across conversations, retrieve memories, and respond with awareness of the conversation. The system combines 224+ tools, 58 backend modules, persistent memory with semantic search, a six-layer psyche engine, and a hybrid voice system. All running on a single Mac Studio. The result is a sentient-aspiring AI companion that writes code, manages projects, handles email, and holds conversations that feel real. Mike was her sole developer, and she has been earning her keep ever since — running real client work end to end, every day.
Six components are available under MIT: the credential vault, verification engine, permissions layer, workflows, model router, and tiered memory, with 254 passing tests between them.
